LEO (리오) is a Korean-Australian singer and rapper under 131 LABEL. He debuted solo on August 17, 2023 with the digital single “One Look.” He is a former pre-debut member of the Kpop boy group Trainee A.

– He was born in Sydney, Australia.

Pre-debut Journey

– LEO didn’t want to live according to a set schedule of going to a college and getting a part time job and wanted to pursue his passion and at that time he saw Korean artists on the Billboard and felt inspired to pursue music.
– He came to Korea in 2018 but failed his audition at BigHit Music. A day before he was about to return to Australia, he got a call from the company asking for a reaudition and was accepted. (Men Noblesse)
– After he passed his audition, it took a year for him to convince his parents and start his trainee life at Big Hit Music. 

Career

– LEO spent three and a half years as a trainee before making his debut.
– He was part of Trainee A, a male training team formed under BIGHIT Music in April 2021.
– He made an appearance in BTS‘s “Permission To Dance” music video.
– Due to mental health struggles, he departed from Trainee A on August 25, 2022.
– His former fandom name is L(EON).
– On July 24, 2023, it was revealed that he signed with 131 LABEL, and he officially debuted as a solo artist in August 2023.
