Early Life

– She was born in Seoul, South Korea.
– She went to Myeonmok Elementary School and Songgok Girls’ Middle School.
– She graduated from Korea Arts High School.
– Her mother passed away when she was four and she was raised by her grandparents.

Personal Life

– Her religion is Christianity.
– She is fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
– Her father got diagnosed with lung disease and he also had tuberculosis and was alcoholic.
– She got a call that her father was in critical condition before a concert and after the concert she rushed to take care of him and stayed with him for a week. He passed away in June 2010. Her grandfather also died a year later.
– She attended Dongguk University.

– During Wonder Girls world tour, she used her vacation time to volunteer for undernourished children and others in need. She took a five-day break to travel to Haiti in 2011, where she met her future husband, a missionary. Initially, he was skeptical of celebrities, believing they staged volunteer work for appearances. She was wiping their bodies, holding their hands, and praying for them while singing to comfort children scared of injections. – Sunye married James Park in January 2013 and she has three daughters. Her first daughter, Hailey, was born on October 16, 2013, and her second daughter, Ha-jin (Elisha), was born on April 22, 2016 and her third daughter, Park Yujin, was born on January 30, 2019.
– She likes to eat tteokbokki and ice cream.
– Her chair swapping incident went viral when during a stage performance that involved dancing with chairs, she checked all the members chairs and swapped her own chair with Sohee’s because it was shaking to prevent Sohee from any accidents.
– She has permanent residency in Canada.
– JYP had a lot of trust in her and used to say that he created Wonder Girls because of her.
– She said she quit the group after her father and grandfather passed away because she realized that she didn’t want to continue living a life that didn’t align with the happiness she desired and didn’t feel as happy going on stage like before and thought it was time for a break.
– Her grandmother, her only blood relative, passed away after she had her first child and she was happy that Sunye finally had a family of her own before going.
– Her husband is five years older than her and was born and raised in Canada. She lived in Canada with her family before moving to South Korea to resume her career.
– In 2010, she visited an aged man who was living in the mountains after being disheartened due to experiencing many frauds. She packed all basic necessities and other things for him and talked with him despite the bad odor as he hadn’t washed in a while. (allkpop)

– Sunye is the Leader, Main Vocalist, and Lead Dancer in Wonder Girls.
– She was scouted in 2001 by JYP after she participated on the show “Talent Development Project 99%”.
– She also participated in the project girl group “MAMADOL”.
– She was directly involved in writing four out of the five songs on her debut mini-album.
– In 2015, JYP Entertainment officially announced her departure from Wonder Girls.
– She was formerly under BlockBerry Creative (2022-2023) and Polaris Entertainment.
– She had a training period of 6 years.
