Apink (에이핑크) is a South Korean 5-member Kpop girl group under IST Entertainment. The group members consist of Chorong, Bomi, Eunji, Namjoo, and Hayoung. They debuted on April 19, 2011, with the mini album “Seven Springs of Apink”.

Apink Profile

Apink Facts:

– Before their debut, Apink members appeared in music videos of Highlight/Beast.
– They have four sub-units JooJiRong, Apink BnN, Apink Y.O.S, and Apink CHOBOM.
– They had a collaboration single with B.A.P, titled “Mini”, for Skoolooks.
– In 2013, Yukyung left the group to focus on her studies. In 2022, Naeun departed from the group due to difficulty balancing work as both an actress and idol.
– In 2015, they took 18th place on the Korea Power Celebrity list of Forbes.
– On April 28th, 2023, IST Entertainment released a statement that members Chorong, Bomi, Namjoo, and Hayoung would not be renewing their contracts with the company, while Eunji would remain in IST Entertainment. They added that Apink will continue doing activities as a group. Later that day, it was announced that Chorong, Bomi, Namjoo, and Hayoung signed exclusive contracts with the company Choi Creative Lab.
– On April 1st, 2019, Apink’s company (Plan A Entertainment) and another company (FAVE Entertainment) merged into what is now called Play M Entertainment. As of November 1, 2021, Play M once again merged with Cre.ker Entertainment, which is home of the boy group The Boyz, which is now revealed to be known as IST Entertainment.

Achievements

 – “Mr Chu” was the eighth best selling digital song in 2014, according to Gaon’s year-end chart.
– In 2014, they were the only girl group to have won first place on all three major Korean music shows two weeks in a row.
– In 2015, they were the first group to win five consecutive awards on Music Core.
– Their song “Dumhdurum” was ranked second on Billboard’s list of the top K-pop songs of 2020.

Apink Diet

– Before their debut, the members diet consisted of brown rice or radish stock soup, 40g or sugar-free cereal, and 100g of chicken breast for breakfast. For lunch, corn or sweet potatoes and two bananas. In case the members still felt hungry, the management used to let them eat buckwheat noodle soup. For dinner, which was usually at 5 p.m. KST, they only consumed salad with sides like cherry tomatoes and chicken breast.

– They have won major awards such as Rookie of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Album Bonsang, and Digital Bonsang.
