– On February 22, 2021, shortly after the accusation, Soojin responded to the rumors through (G)I-DLE’s official fan community and clarified that while she was ashamed that she had smoked a couple of times during middle school out of curiosity, she had never bullied anyone, stolen other student’s belongings, physically assaulted someone, or sent out a text urging students to outcast the classmate.
– She also stated that she was friends with the said classmate and her older sister during middle school and even hung out at their place a couple of times. She fought with her friend and cursed at her because she frequently used to break promises. Soojin apologized on the phone but they grew distant from each other after that.
