EXID (이엑스아이디) is a South Korean 5-member Kpop girl group under Banana Culture. The group members consist of Solji, Elly, Hani, Hyelin, and Jeonghwa. They debuted on February 16, 2012, with the single “Whoz That Girl”.

EXID Facts:

– EXID originally debuted under AB Entertainment.
– Having debuted in 2012, they gained popularity in 2014 when their song “Up & Down” became viral due to a live performance recording by a fan which eventually reached number one on the Gaon Singles Chart for four months.
– The trainees Hani, Haeryung, and Jeonghwa were contacted by Yuji  to audition for AB, and all three were accepted into the agency. Elly was the next one to join followed by Dami.
– They were originally named “WT” abbreviated for Who’s That but changed it a few months before their debut.
– In April 2012, AB Entertainment officially announced the departure of members Yuji, Dami, and Haeryeong, stating that Yuji and Dami had left to focus on their studies, while Haeryeong had departed to pursue an acting career.
– Their album “Street” peaked at number two in Korea on the Gaon Album Chart.
– In early May 2019, Hani and Jeonghwa chose not to renew their contracts with Banana Culture.
– On January 15, 2020, Hyelin departed from Banana Culture, followed by Solji on February 5, and Elly on March 25.
