IVE is a fourth-generation K-pop group that debuted with the single album “Eleven” in December 2021, under Starship Entertainment. They are under the same label as MONSTA X and Cosmic Girls (WJSN). All IVE members debuted as minors except for Gaeul. Training began for most IVE members during their middle school. For example, Yujin become a trainee when she was in her first year of middle school. – Gaeul is 20 years old and she was born on September 24, 2002.
– Yujin is 19 years old and she was born on September 1, 2003.
– Rei is 19 years old and she was born on February 3, 2004.
– Wonyoung is 18 years old and was born on August 31, 2004.
– Liz is 18 years old and she was born on November 21, 2004.
– Leeseo is 16 years old and she was born on February 21, 2007.

IVE members were the following ages at the time of their debut in IVE: Gaeul was 19, Yujin was 18, Rei was 17, Wonyoung was 17, Liz was 17, and Leeseo was 14. Leeseo is the maknae (youngest) in IVE and she began her training period when she was in her elementary school. It’s not uncommon for Kpop idols to debut at the tender age of 14, for example, Kaedan from Fantasy Boys was announced as a member of the group at the age of 14 and Hyein is the maknae in Newjeans and she also debuted when she was 14 years old.
Gaeul started her training at a young age and is the oldest member of IVE but she did not become the leader, instead An Yujin became the leader of the group. It’s not unusual as it’s often the case that the second oldest usually becomes the leader instead of the oldest. Before debuting in IVE, An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung, debuted in the temporary group IZ*ONE formed on Produce 48 in 2018 and disbanded in 2021. At the time, An Yujin debuted at the age of 15 and Wonyoung debuted at the age of 14. Keeping in mind that their training period started way before their first debut.
