2NE1 (투애니원) was a South Korean four-member Kpop girl group under YG Entertainment. The group members consisted of CL, Dara, and Park Bom and Minzy. They debuted on May 17, 2009 with the song “Fire”. Minzy left the group shortly before the disbandment.

– The group’s name, 2NE1, stands for “New Evolution of The 21st Century” and is pronounced “To anyone” or “Twenty-one”.

Minzy’s Departure & Disbandment

– Former member Minzy first left the group on April 5, 2016 to pursue her solo career and YG announced that the group would continue with three members but later abruptly announced in November 2016 that the group would disband.
– 2NE1 members weren’t informed of the group’s disbandment beforehand and only got to know through the news.
– Minzy wasn’t able to participate in the group’s final song ‘Goodbye’ because she was signed under a different agency.
– The members reunited at Coachella in 2022 and performed their song ‘I Am the Best’, their first performance after six years since disbandment. They also reunited again to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut in 2024.
