GOT7 (갓세븐) is a seven-member multinational boy group that debuted on January 16th, 2014, with the mini album ‘Got It?’ under JYP Entertainment. The group members consist of Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. The group is currently under Warner Music Korea.

– The group is known for its multinational composition, with members from South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, and the United States.
– The group’s name, GOT7, was about to get named “Get7” but it was later changed because it didn’t sound very nice.
– GOT7’s name was inspired by the first-generation group G.O.D and the lucky number seven, symbolizing “seven lucky people coming together.”
– Prior to their debut, JB and Jinyoung were part of the duo JJ Project, and other members appeared in the reality show “WIN: Who Is Next.”
– The members participated in writing and composing the songs for the first time in the album “ Flight Log: Departure” and its title track “Fly” won nine music show wins.
– GOT7 members joined JYP Entertainment in the following order: Jay B and Jinyoung in 2009, Mark and BamBam in 2010, Yugyeom later in the same year, Jackson in mid-2011, and Youngjae in mid-2013.
– The group’s subunit Jus2 consists of members Jay B and Yugyeom.

– Their debut EP “Got It?”, reached number two on the Gaon Album Chart and number one on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.
– On April 9, 2016, GOT7 entered the Billboard Artist 100 chart at No. 45, making them the second K-pop act to achieve this. (Billboard)
– They sold out tickets for their Bangkok concert on the Keep Spinning World Tour within two hours, and they had to announce another show and thus became the second K-pop group to perform two shows at the venue.
– With their EP “Call My Name” the group became the first artist from JYP Entertainment to sell over 100,000 copies on the first day.
– They are immensely popular in Thailand and they became the first K-pop artist to perform seven times in Thailand over the course of four days. They also held the largest scale fanmeeting ever recorded in Thailand called “GOT7 FAN FEST 2019 ‘SEVEN SECRETS” held in Bangkok.

Departure from JYP & Signing under Warner Music Korea

– In early January 2021, it was confirmed that they would leave JYP Entertainment after seven years, marking their last group activity at the 35th Golden Disc Awards.
– On 19 January 2021, the group officially left JYP Entertainment after their contract with the agency expired.
– On May 6, 2022, GOT7 revealed their signing with Warner Music Korea.

– GOT7 won the bronze “Best K-pop” award at the “Bravo Otto” in 2020.
