Boynextdoor members began their trainee period when they were either elementary or middle schoolers. Taesan for example, began his trainee period when he was a middle schooler of around 13 years old. Boynextdoor was produced by the famous rapper Zico and the group is the first to debut under KOZ Entertainment. The company was founded by Zico but was later acquired by HYBE in 2020. On May 30, 2023, Boynextdoor debuted with the single album “WHO!” under KOZ Entertainment.

Woohak started his training when he was only 13 years of age and debuted when he was just 16 years old (soon turning 17). He is the maknae (youngest) in Boynextdoor. Fantasy Boys maknae Kaedan, also at the age of 14 and so did Leeseo from IVE.
Sungho is the oldest member of the group but he is not the leader of the Boynextdoor. Instead, Jaehyun, the third oldest is the leader of the group. This is much similar to how RM became the leader in BTS even though Jin is the oldest in the group. After second-generation K-pop groups like Super Junior and Shinee, it is not often seen that the oldest becomes the leader.
